New Courses at Coginchaug

New+Courses+at+Coginchaug

Times are changing at Coginchaug! For the 2015-2016 school year, Coginchaug is offering 28 new courses, including all types of new electives such as Landscaping, Financial Algebra, and Fashion Marketing, as well as many new UConn and AP courses. Within the English and Art departments, the department heads have been working tirelessly to boost our theatre department, adding courses like Acting and Theatre Production. Additionally, courses like Multimedia Journalism and Yearbook are aimed at improving the existing yearbook, school newspaper, and monthly news segments produced by our students.

In an effort for our Blue Devils to earn credits for the University of Connecticut, courses in five different areas of study have been added to appeal to students with varying interests. For the technologically inclined, Coding, Computer Programming, and Web Design have been added–classes that are becoming increasingly essential as the job market is becoming more targeted towards the computer savvy. Unified Sports and Unified Foods courses are another addition to Coginchaug, increasing the relationships and respect among students with various backgrounds.

The incorporation of many new courses to virtually every subject will not only diversify the Coginchaug student, but allow students of all different passions to take classes that they are excited about. The upcoming school year promises a lot of change, and it certainly is an exciting time to be a Blue Devil!

*Editor’s Note: The courses appearing in the new course registration catalog are not guaranteed to run. The administration will assess student interest and resources in order to finalize which courses will run next year.
