Efforts by the Coginchaug Basketball Boosters yielded $110 in donations, matched by the club for a total of $220 to be donated to alumnus Jacob Tietelbaum and his family. Tietelbaum (CRHS ’12) joined the gymnasium via Skype during the pregame ceremonies.

The following was announced during the ceremony (also shown in video):
Jake graduated Coginchaug in 2012 after playing four years of Devils hoops with a class including the likes of Erikson Wasyl, Alec Corazzini, Ethan Donecker, Sam Baker, Brock Hoyt, Kevin Gawron, and Luke Bogdanski–a team that would end up finishing in the semi-finals of Shorelines and the quarter-finals of the state tournament their senior year. Jake is currently taking time off from his senior year at Wake Forest University to receive treatment for refractory Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in Gainesville, Florida. He is responding well to treatment and plans to return to Wake Forest in the fall to finish his double major in Business & Spanish.
