On Tuesday, Sept. 15, the girls soccer team beat the Westbrook Knights 7-1 on their home turf.
The first goal that night was scored by senior Larissa Cade. Cade and senior Jess Drop both scored two goals. Senior Amy Arcari and junior Olivia Preneta added to the score with one goal each. One of the seven goals was scored by freshman Shannon Carey, and this was her first varsity goal.
“Even though we started our season off with a tough loss, we had a great practice before Westbrook,” said captain Larissa Cade. Senior captain Taylor Marino agreed, saying “we were confident going into the game and scored our first goal in the first 13 minutes. We decided to play smart soccer which in the end gave us a positive ending to our game.”
The girls’ next game is away at 3:45 on Thursday, Sept. 24 against Haddam Killingworth.
