The Unified Sports soccer game was held at Coginchaug on Monday, Oct. 26. The team played Middletown High School and “was a great experience,” said senior coach Brenden Rushford.
The head coach of the first ever Unified Sports team is CRHS health teacher Robb Bajoros. Coginchaug was defeated with a score of 2-1, with Middletown scoring goals in each half.
Junior Josh Myjak scored Coginchaug’s goal in the first half with the help of his powerful teammates. Cog offense moved the ball with ease thanks to their precise passing, but nothing seemed to end up in the net.
“We may not have won, but the team did a great job, and I am proud of everyone,” said Rushford.
“Hopefully, we will find more schools to play in the future,” Bajoros said proudly.
