Bright and early on Sunday, March 20 the Coginchaug seniors loaded the buses to Washington, D.C. They started their journey visiting the Iwo Jima Memorial. With a very packed schedule, the seniors got the opportunity to see many of the beautiful buildings and populars spots in Washington: the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, etc.

Senior Katelynn Branciforte explains, “It’s one thing to read about these special monuments and places in Washington, but it is another thing to actually see them.” She adds, “You admire them and have a different appreciation for these things when you actually get to see them close up.”

Also, senior Jacquelyn Stevens commented, “It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.”

Overall, many seniors seemed to have a great time and really enjoyed one of their last trips together. Lastly, senior Larissa Cade stated, “It was great to spend this last trip with the rest of my senior class, and I know this is something that I will remember forever.”
