The girls volleyball team finished their regular season 12-8.
On Monday, Oct. 31, they entered the quarterfinal game in the Shoreline Conference against the Cromwell Panthers. Previously, the Panthers beat the Devil’s twice by a score of 3-1. The girls got off to an early lead, only to have the Panthers tie the match 2-2. The Devils fought hard in their last match and came out on top over Cromwell. Two days later, the girls traveled to top-seeded H-K. They put up a good fight but could not find a way to win, losing 3-0.
Following their loss in the Shoreline tournament, the girls entered the State tournament with a home game against Abbott Tech (both teams ranked 12-8). The Devils dominated the match and defeated Abbott Tech 3-0. Following their home win, the girls traveled to top-ranked Lyman Memorial High School. Despite their hopes of defeating the No. 1 ranked team, the girls fell short 3-0, ending their 2016 playoff campaign.
The six seniors, however, were able to finish with the memories of a great season, most notably their defeat of the Morgan Huskies for the first two times in school history.
