On Monday, senior Luke Garofalo took the mound for the first time in his Coginchaug career. Garofalo transferred from Xavier at the beginning of this school year and was not allowed to play the first 10 games under the CIAC transfer rules.

He shined in his first start, striking out 11 batters in four innings and giving up no hits, as he was to stay under a 50-pitch limit. At the plate, he also hit an RBI double.

This podcast from GameTimeCT talks about the performance from Garofalo from this game, as well as the Coginchaug team as a whole. Skip to 2:40 for that information.

MacGuire O’Sullivan was the main offense at the dish going 3 for 3 with 3 RBI’s.

After Garofalo came out, seniors Eric DeBrum and Dan Munro finished off the game for the Devils.

They have a tough two games coming up on the road: they play at Cromwell today at 3:45 p.m. and play at H-K, who are 12-0, on Friday at 3:45 p.m. With the addition of Garofalo, the Devils are looking to have a strong end to the season.
