Mrs. Emily Archer is one of many new teachers at Coginchaug. She joins the English department, teaching courses such as UConn English, Readers’ Workshop, and English 9. She held other jobs including writing for a literary magazine and published for the Yale University Press for foreign language and ESL, a freelance writer, a tutor for literacy at Coginchaug, and a long-term substitute for Ms. Mattei. She once taught at Coginchaug in 2003 but left after her first child was born. She chose to be a teacher because she loved literature and wanted to interact with students. Her favorite things about Coginchaug are that the students are eager to learn and the community is welcoming. She has two kids, ages six and four. She likes to read, play soccer with her children, and watch films.
