On October 11, 2021, Coginchaug DECA, Coginchaug’s business and leadership club, held its first ever golf tournament at Indian Springs Golf Course in Middlefield Connecticut. Members of Coginchaug DECA were tasked with the four functions of management (planning, organizing, leading, and controlling) for this event. Alyssa Szymaszek, the golf tournament chairperson, led a team through the successful completion of the event. “It was a beautiful day, and I am extremely proud of the work that my DECA members did in planning and organizing this incredible event,” says Mr. Donecker, Coginchaug DECA’s Advisor.  The funds raised from this event will help to defray the costs of state and international competitions this year. Colin Murphy who attended the tournament said it was “It was awesome. There was a great turn out and I think everyone had a lot of fun.”
