1. Malala Yousafzai Wins Nobel Peace Prize
Malala Yousafzai grew up in Pakistan in an area under Taliban occupation. She wrote a blog for the BBC when she was very young; as she rose in fame, she became a target for pro-Taliban militia. She was shot in the head and had several death threats made against her and her family. She then moved to the UK and continued to campaign for young people’s rights to education. She is the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize.
