Coginchaug boys basketball is having a strong 2015-2016 season. Although they may have lost their first game against Valley Regional, they earned three wins over the holiday break.
On Dec. 23, the first game, Coginchaug led Valley until the last 22 seconds of the game when the Warriors scored. The Devils couldn’t answer, resulting in a 53-54 loss. On December 28, they won their game against Windsor Locks with a score of 62-43. On December 30, the boys won another game against Hyde Leadership, 56-44.
On January 2, Coginchaug held their fourth against Hale Ray. Coginchaug won 75-35, with senior captain Walter Wyskiel leading the team with 22 points. Another key player that night was senior captain Cam Powers scoring 13 points.
The Coginchaug boys basketball team now holds a 3-1 record. The next game will be on January 5 at 7:00 p.m. at Westbrook High School.
