Pink-Out Game Raises Money to Fight Cancer

Pink-Out+Game+Raises+Money+to+Fight+Cancer

The Coginchaug Regional High School girls and boys basketball teams recently joined the fight against cancer by hosting a “Pink Out” Coaches vs. Cancer Event, a program associated with the American Cancer Society.
Coginchaug welcomed East Hampton High School, playing a triple header of girls and boys basketball at the JV and varsity levels. Fans were asked to wear pink, and rally towels were given out at the door in support of the cause. Money was raised through student ticket sales, lollipop sales and a half-time shooting contest.
The spirit of this “Pink Out” event was evidenced throughout the evening among our teams, coaches and spectators. Todd Powers of Jock in the Box Entertainment provided the music and rally towels for this spirited evening. The Coginchaug Cheerleaders, coached by Rebecca Suchy, used pink pom-poms to lead the crowd, along with the “voice of Coginchaug” Dr. Kris Nystrom, CRHS English teacher and event announcer.
Special thanks goes out to Kim Terrill and the Coginchaug Basketball Booster Club along with our athletes, coaches, event organizers, staff, students and the dedicated CRHS fans who supported this event. A total donation of $367 was raised for the American Cancer Society.
