This January, boys basketball has had a tough season winning five games and losing four.
On Jan. 2, Coginchaug played against Hale Ray and took the lead with the final score of 75-35. Unfortunately, the boys lost their next game on Jan. 5 against Westbrook with the final score of 48-65.
The boys won their third game of 2016 on Jan. 8 against North Branford with a 52-38 result. Coginchaug lost their next game against Old Saybrook on Jan.12 with the final score of 53-64. A few days later, on Jan. 15, Coginchaug lost another game–this time, against Cromwell. The boys were close to tying but ended with a score of 40-45.
On Jan. 22, Coginchaug won against Old Lyme with the final score of 70-23. On Jan. 26, the boys lost against Morgan with the final score of 45-63. On Jan. 29, the boys played Portland and won with the final score of 62:50.
Their last game of January, Coginchaug played against Old Saybrook again on Jan. 30. This time, it resulted in a win for Coginchaug with the final score 62-47.
Ending January with a record of 7-5, sophomore Hunter Jameson said, “As a team, we definitely hope to win a championship this year.”
